Kitesurf Festival in northern Brazil

With strong and steady winds, was held last weekend the Ajuruteua Kite Festival in Braganca city, in the Pará state. One of the main havens of Pará coast, this region is popularized precisely by the rustic weather, where we highlight small inns, simple restaurants and a fantastic atmosphere for kitesurfing. In a first moment a series of suspended colored houses that take the sandy streets call attention until you arrive at a beautiful white sand beach.

The event was held by kiteboarder Ari Alves and APVE (Para Sailing Sports Association), was attended professional rider Celio Beleza, who gave a kitewave clinic where points discussed as sailing strapless, kite drive, adjustments, choosing the best equipment, tendencies, having a great public acceptance. The plan now is to make this clinic an APEV event that must follow to the main wave points of Pará.

The competitions of the Race category were very strong, with Jefferson Santos accelerating faster and ensuring the title of champion, in second place we had Alex Padarath and third in Sidney Lobato. Women also entered the water, having as champions Renata Raiol, Raquel and Kely.

According to the organizers, “the Pará winds are perfect for kitesurfing. People from every part of world come here to sail.”
