Celio Beleza in Combuco

Cumbuco Beach

We started the small village of Cumbuco which is located approximately 35 km from the center of Fortaleza city. Its border has several hotels and residences, numerous restaurants, offering specialties from Ceará and craft shops. The origin of the name Cumbuco generates much discussion. While some natives say that the word means long wave and low in Tupi-Guarani, others say that the origin of the name would be coming from bowl, a kind of gourd used in cooking. The place is surrounded by palm trees that adorn the spacious white sand track. His long track asphalted points are ideal for longboard skate for days without wind and wave conditions.

Our adventure quest scroll through the main West Coast beaches of Ceará, with the goal of producing a guide to best practice points to the board sports. We will practice the Kitesurf, Surf, Skate Longboard and Stand Up Paddle.

Saint Tropez

is a great wave spot, where he runs a good right. The wave makes it easier for beginners because it is a little fat and the wind always side / onshore assistance at the time of the maneuvers. It is also perfect for the class freerider, for the 50 meters to direct, has a completely flat. It is located in the village of Cumbuco in front of the hotel Saint Tropez.

Pico das Almas

is a very traditional small spot recommended by the local community, which has managed to remain true, despite the large tourist phenomenon. With little urban structure, but with great natural attractions, Pico das Almas is a perfect place for those looking for places with waves and strong winds, or for people who want a quiet place without much hype and great options of intense contact with nature. Lacks infrastructure, which indicated that the tourist or sportsman light food and beverages to enjoy a pleasant day at the beach.

Pecém Beach

The Pecem beach is a fishing village that belongs to the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante. This region was inhabited by Indians Anacé, and Guanacés Jaguaruanas For its location, was chosen to host the new port, which together with the port of Fortaleza in Fortaleza, drains the industrial production of Ceará. Knowing the immense structure which is the port of Pecem, is a must-see attraction.

Caldeiras

are a super dangerous reef break, with about 50 cm deep, where perfect waves opening for both sides. With a wind onshore very difficult, we can do a session with insane moves very close to the corals, collected some cuts on the feet and legs and fingers in many hedgehogs. It is located next to the pier of the Port.

Pedra Redonda

is famous for your long right fast and dangerous waves. A shallow coral bench makes the perfect wave breaks, opening a wall that is hard to forget. Some series with 2 feet tall with a strong offshore wind a little difficult maneuvers in the lip.

Colônia

is a spot that produces straight and maneuverable breaking into a fund that provides a good training of the wave, always doing the heads of the most demanding riders.

Bruno in Taiba

Taiba Beach

On the beach which gives its name to the village, the highlight is the meeting of the river to the sea, on the left, forming a pond. The area is known as Barramar and offers plenty of wind. Have the right side, called Morro do Chapeú, hosts sports competitions with surfboards. The course Taiba has separate beaches for stones, entering the sea. The first, known as Taibinha, is quite extensive and filled with palm trees, perfect for long walks. The sea is generous with the water sports, that there are big waves and constant breaking on the reef with a cave nearby. Much smaller, the beach in the city center is surrounded by cliffs and protected by reefs, which act as a wharf for the rafts. What happens there is the Fish Market, so they call the Praia da Pesqueira.

Bruno and Celio

Throughout the summer, strong winds and good waves of the Atlantic refresh this spot. In the third part of the beach called Morro do Chapeú, the landscape changes and vacation homes are positioned over a ravine. There can surf excellent waves that break over a shallow lined the reef. The wind here comes from sea to land, and were around 25 knots all day. Try the raft trip and enjoy the Taiba to see the wonderful sunset. After a day of wind and waves make contact with a native, a fresh fish shop and ask to be made the famous Roast – fire made from coconut shells and dried fish impaled on the stick, seasoned only with salt, preferably in the moonlight.

Bruno paddling in Paracuru

Paracuru Beach

Distant 84 km from Fortaleza, comes from a fishing village by the sea. The following definitions according to information from the Tupi language: means Lizard Paracuru Another version of the Sea: Sea of Gravel. “Para” (Mar) + “Curu” (Gravel) or “Para” (Rio) + “Curu” (Gravel), Gravel River.

The beaches paracuruenses are favorable to the practice of sports such as kitesurfing, surfing, windsurfing, Stand Up Paddle. An example of this is the point of the Quebra Mar – Caca Hut, who is internationally known as one of the major meeting points for sailors and surfers in the region. Here we have a sea as smooth on the edge and the waves break further out (outside), with good training. The waves of the spot Ronco do Mar are also very good because it breaks over a coral bench. They are long straight that provide the performance of several and all kinds of maneuvers.

With more ripples, squares and pipes has completed. On the coast of Paracuru have other peaks that are the heads of practitioners in the sports board and hundreds of tourists from various countries seeking its waves and winds, especially between October and March, when the undulations of the northern quarter come often in Ceará. Among them are Havaizinho, Curralzinho, Stone Middle and Mouth of the Well.

End of the TRIP. It’s payback time. Around the edge of the beach is our choice, because besides the visual of the native forest you can still check out the splendor of Sunset on top of a dune. Was it worth it ….. ah … thanks!

ALOHA,

Celio Beleza
