Jamil Farah in Taiba // Strapless Kitesurfing

Wind season in full swing
Already known to the majority of people, the second part of the year in Ceará is full of very strong winds and Kitesurf. This year, the season went well with strong winds, blowing more than 20knots every days. All the beaches and the lagoons of our coast are filled with colorful kites and good people who want to enjoy nature, practicing extreme sports. One of the best spots to rip with a kite, Taiba, is located in the municipality of São Gonçalo do Amarante, the peak is a crib for beginners and also a great training spot for more experienced strapless riders, offering good waves and steady wind.
Frequent visitor of Taiba, the Pena athlete Jamil Farah, whenever he can, runs over there to ensure a quality workout. On this day, Jamil who was trainning for next competitions, was shot by the photographer and freerider, Paulo Andre Gaspar.

Jamil said about Taiba : “Whenever I can, I come here to Taiba. The line-up is cleaner than in Praia do Futuro in Fortaleza and with always steady and strong winds. In a such place, we always find inspiration to learn new strapless tricks. It’s certainly one of my favorite places to workout”.

The athlete, who is curently ranking 7th in the Brazilian championship and 3rd Cearense, also told us that the calendar of competitions this year, has not yet been released, which has rather hindered travel planning, but he said that with or without competition, something cool and different comes around. “I have some projects in mind and I intend to put them into practice soon. If you love surfing with a kite, you can follow everything through the Pena website or the Fanpage on facebook.”

Jamil is sponsored by Pena and has the support of the Kebab House, Kitesurfnordeste.com, ASD surfboards, Functional Movement and Fortaleza.
