ALBERT MORENO – SAHARA ADVENTURE // Strapless kitesurfing

The Catalan rider Albert Moreno enjoys his stay in the Wind & waves machine at Dakhla, Morroco during the VKWC.

The professional catalan rider Albert Moreno from Igualada (Barcelona) was showing his best during the first stop of the Virgin Kitesurf World Cup 2015 here in Dakhla, Morocco.

Coming from a small city in the middle of Catalonia, with his nearest spot 2 hours from his home and without the best conditions to train every day, he made it till 25th position competing against people from Hawaii, Australia or South Africa being the Spanish rider with the best position on the overall!

“For my was a dream to be competing agains the best wave riders on the world and this place is a personal victory! Now this made me to be motivated as never and gonna keep training and pushing myself as much as I can all the season that we already have!” Albert said after the competition.

All the riders had blast riding in one of the longest waves on Morocco. We been competing on the local spot called Oum Labouir and the spot was pumping amazing conditions and this let to made all the competition in one day.
Near overhead waves and strong winds made the day for all the riders and lets them to show that nowadays the level is really high.

I was riding my Airush Wave 7m and my Compact RAW 5’9, was the perfect option for that situation and definitely is best all-round surfboard I ever had!

Special thanks to Klaus and all the Dakhla Attitude team for the organization and to give the best during all days on the camp. Incredible days with amazing people!
