How to kitesurf: Front shove-it – Strapless – North Kiteboarding Academy

Watch as we show you how to do a Front.

This in depth tutorial is packed with loads of tips and tricks, brought to you by the all-new North Kiteboarding Academy. With the front shove-it you are totally up to date when it comes to high level strapless freestyle kiteboarding. Make sure you have the front and the shove-it dialed in before you try this move.

Prepare for a big front as you will need some extra airtime to add the shove-it at the end. The first part is the same as in a normal front: Pull the front knee up after takeoff

Get the windward rail higher and push the tail up and forward Use your back hand to support the rotation and keep your knees bend The kite should still be high and pulling you up when you finished the first 300 degrees.

Now prepare for the shove-it: kick the tail of the board up and forward with your back foot to initiate the spin. As you finish the front the board should be spinning free. As in a normal shove-it try to touch the board with your front foot for better control.

Finally land on a downwind course and steer the kite down to regain speed!

Let´s remember the key elements:

Go for a high front

When you finish the front kick the board forward with your back foot to initiate the shove-it

Control the board with your front foot as you approach the landing

Enjoy your ride with North Kiteboarding Academy
