Cape Verde – Blast Kiteboarding

Marc Rowley – Blast Kiteboarding in little video of recent last minute trip to Sal, Cape Verde.

We were planning to go snowboarding but with no fresh snow due and our love off piste powder we decided against that and last minute booked our flights to SAL.

This was our first time to Sal, the first two days were spent at kitebeach (didn’t both with any video there) but once we had a hire car we ventured further afield, we also booked a days coaching with legend Mitu Monteiro….this was a massive help as the conditions are so so different to what we are used to. Mitu also took us to some amazing quieter locations as Ponta Preta was super busy with all the pro’s practicing for the upcoming GKA event.

Unfortunately the memory card broke with the last few days to go….the days when we finally got more dialed in with the offshore wind direction and where to position the kite etc What the video does not show is how super gusty the winds are, so on and off, also how shallow the water is on the reefs. Anyway, it was a fantastic trip and we can’t wait to return!
